Kid’s Room
San Jose, CA
There once was a boy who dreamed of having a room filled with vintage charm, he loved books and wanted a special place to keep his library.
The space was empty, so I got to choose everything from the furniture to the wallpaper. I started by using Ikea shelves and dressers to build a unique bookcase. I painted it in his favorite color – sage green and added hand-crafted arches and golden molds to give it an antique feel. I found beautiful pieces of art at flea markets, each one originally framed – adding a touch of history to the room. For a cozy reading corner, I upholstered a chair with velvet fabric featuring an animal fairytale print. To make the room even more special, I added a canopy over the reading nook. I also included little details like vintage-style hooks, charming lights, and other small touches that made the space feel complete.
The boy fell in love with his new room and it made me smile.
